How McCarthy Masons Began: A Return to Real Ingredients

How McCarthy Masons Began: A Return to Real Ingredients

We started with a question........what did people use on their skin before the modern beauty industry existed? The answer kept pointing us back to one thing — tallow.

A Return to Tallow

Tallow is rendered fat from grass-fed, pasture-raised cattle. It's been used for skin care, wound healing, and moisture protection for thousands of years across cultures. And when we looked at the science, it made complete sense why.

Tallow is rich in the same fatty acids that make up human skin — oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, and linoleic acid. It contains fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. And because it so closely mirrors the skin's own sebum, it absorbs deeply rather than sitting on the surface.

We believe your skin deserves ingredients that work with your biology, not against it. That's the foundation everything we make is built on.
