Tallow Skincare FAQ
What is beef tallow?
Beef tallow is a rendered form of beef fat that has been used for centuries in cooking and skincare. It's rich in fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, as well as conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and oleic acid.
Why is tallow good for skin?
Tallow closely mimics the natural oils (sebum) produced by human skin, making it highly compatible and easily absorbed. It provides deep moisture without clogging pores and supports the skin's natural barrier.
Is your tallow grass-fed?
Yes — all of our tallow is sourced from 100% grass-fed, pasture-raised cattle. Grass-fed tallow contains higher levels of beneficial nutrients compared to conventionally raised sources.
Is tallow safe for sensitive skin?
Tallow is naturally anti-inflammatory and free from synthetic additives, making it an excellent choice for sensitive, reactive, or eczema-prone skin. We recommend patch testing any new product before full use.
Will tallow make my skin greasy or break me out?
Because tallow is biocompatible with human skin, it absorbs readily without leaving a heavy residue. Many customers with acne-prone skin find tallow-based products actually help balance oil production over time.
What makes tallow different from plant-based oils?
Unlike most plant-based oils, tallow contains fat-soluble activators (vitamins A, D, E, K) in a form the body recognizes and uses efficiently. Its fatty acid profile closely matches human skin, which plant oils cannot replicate.
Are your products all-natural?
Yes. Our products are crafted from small-batch, natural ingredients with no synthetic fragrances, parabens, or preservatives. We believe in keeping skincare simple and close to nature.
How do I use tallow on my face?
Apply a small amount (a little goes a long way) to clean, slightly damp skin. Warm it between your fingertips first and gently press into skin. Use morning and/or evening as part of your routine.
